Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 8.14.25

Salmon are picky right now, but stick with your marks and the right flasher-fly combo…be patient, and you will get your bite!

Salmon fishing this past weekend has been on and off. There’s always a time of the year when they seem to shut it down for a few days, and it seems like that’s where it is now. So, if you are marking some fish, stay on them if you can. Eventually, sometime during the day, one or two of them will fire off.

Gary Rueb’s Blackjaw flies, Ghost Blue and Gold Dollar, are still catching fish behind Salmon Candy Megatron and Optimus Prime flashers, A-Tom-Ik UV Dolphin fly behind, and an 11” Salmon Candy chrome stud flasher is also picking up fish still. 55-85 is where we are finding the most active fish, and our trolling speed has been 2.1-22. Good luck out there!
