Georgetown Lake Fishing Report 7.15.25

The following report is via Flint Creek Outdoors at 148 W Broadway St in Philipsburg:

Damsels, Callibaetis, and sedges have been the name of the game at Georgetown lake. Finding rising fish is the key to success. During the day they’ve been eating subsurface as well. They’re in about 6 to 8 feet of water. There have been a few sedges hatching late into the evening so if you can hold out for that it could be worth your time! The whole lake is finally open! 

Here are a few tips for fly fishing Georgetown Lake:

1. A balanced leech stripped or under an indicator is the best method right now. 
2. Stripping a wooly bugger or an egg under an indicator
3. Cover water and be methodical and you’ll catch fish!

Here are a few fly suggestions:

1. Damsel nymph, 12-14

2. Black Wooly bugger, 10-12

3. Maroon balanced leech, 10-12

4. Ice cream cone head chironomid, 12-14
