Walleye – Still catching a few nicer fish here and there, pitching jigs and plastics along some main lake points. Most of our fish this past weekend were holding 15 feet or less.
Smallmouth – Water temps were up this weekend, and we found some bass near some of their spawning areas in 3-5 feet of water. The fish were pretty aggressive, and a 1/4 ounce chartreuse or bright orange jig head with a 3.3 or 3.8 paddle tail was the deal.
Pike – We found lots of good sized northerns running from 5 to 15 feet deep this past week. Trolling crankbaits, pitching jigs and plastics, and sucker minnows dragging behind on a jig or under a slip bobber all worked well.
Lakers – Most fish we found this past week were from 40 out to 85 feet. Surface temps are barely 50, so the fish are scattered out quite a bit still. Kietech 4.8” sightflash color paddletails and a 3/4 ounce jig head accounted for almost all of our fish.
