Fresno Dam Upgrades Underway to Strengthen Long-Term Performance

Fresno Dam is getting a much-needed makeover to keep the Hi-Line flowing strong for generations to come…

Big things are happening at Fresno Dam! NW Construction is busy giving the old dam a serious upgrade—out with the worn cover and in with fresh layers of sand, gravel, and geotextile fabric. It’s like a spa day for one of the Hi-Line’s hardest-working landmarks.

Since the 1930s, Fresno has been holding it down (literally) for irrigation, towns, and summer fun. These upgrades will help it keep doing that job safely and reliably for decades to come.

The facelift wraps up in Fall 2025, but we’ll keep you posted here, and you can check at the Milk River Project, as things move along.
