Montana Angler Gets Front-Row Elk Bugle While Trout Fishing

A day of trout fishing turned wild when a bull elk and cow wandered right past an angler—and the bull bugled in the river beside him. With Montana’s 2025 archery season stirring excitement, the unexpected riverside “concert” is the kind that makes your heart race.

You know it’s going to be a crazy day when you head out to fish and end up front row at a concert you didn’t expect—but definitely won’t forget. One lucky angler got more than bites when a bull elk and cow wandered right past him, and the bull let out a bugle right in the river next to him. That’s pretty darn awesome.

With Montana’s 2025 archery season already stirring up excitement among bowhunters, this riverside performance is enough to make your heart race long before you ever draw a bow–even if the video clip was posted five years ago!
