From Lake County Search and Rescue
Sunday March 9, 2025.
4 people rescued from Wildhorse Island.
The four paddled a canoe and kayak to the island but were unable to return to mainland due to the wind and waves.
SAR boat 1 trailered to Big Arm for launch.
3 SAR crew members went ashore to find the people then hike them back to a safer area to climb aboard the SAR boat. The four were wet and cold but otherwise stable condition.
Reminder to early season fishermen and other recreational users: SAR boat is not on the water until mid-late May depending on water level. Garage to launch please expect a 2 hour delay for boat crew to assemble and transit time to a boat launch.
