Mike Violette, also known as Team Hippie Fish on Instagram, set out for a typical day on the ice—drill a few holes, drop a line, and maybe tussle with a stubborn trout, pike, or walleye. But as his auger sliced through the final inch of ice, the water below erupted in a frenzy of bubbles, turning his fishing hole into something straight out of a sci-fi flick. The night before, his live scope had shown just a few bubbles, but now? The screen was completely flooded with them.
“I think there was an earthquake or something,” Mike mused. “Why else would it suddenly start bubbling like that?” Just as mysteriously as they appeared, the bubbles vanished by morning—leaving behind one crazy mystery that even the fish couldn’t explain! The video is crazy.
