Georgetown Lake Ice and Fishing Report 2.23.25

With solid ice, prime fishing at dawn and dusk, and a hot bite on balanced leeches, now’s the time to hit Georgetown Lake—just check the ice, gear up, and get after it!

The following report is by Flint Creek Outdoors:

There is about 14 inches of ice by the pump house and 16-18 inches in the bays. Fishing before sunrise has been the best and right before sun down.

Please also use caution when going out and also check the ice thickness before stepping out. 

Here are a few tips for fly fishing Georgetown Lake:

1. A balanced leech stripped or under an indicator is the best method right now. 
2. Stripping a wooly bugger or an egg under an indicator
3. Cover water and be methodical and you’ll catch fish!
