Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Ice Fishing Report 2.20.25

Thick ice, cold temps, and cautious steps—Lake Trout are biting, but Peck’s ice is shifting, so stay sharp out there!

It’s been a pretty cold week on Peck which has made for some good ice but tough fishing conditions. Ice thickness is from 16-20 inches, now, from Rock Creek to Spring Creek. There is a big pressure ridge a mile or so north of Rock Creek, so be careful around that.

Laker Trout fishing has been steady for the most part and we’re still finding the majority of the activity in 60-80 FOW on break lines on the edge of deeper water. Due to the cold weather, we didn’t run much for tip-ups but the little bit we had them out the bite was still pretty slow.

There’s a big warm up coming this week and the ice most likely will move quite a bit day to day and even in some places by the hour so be careful and be extra cautious when traveling out there this week.

Good luck!
