Mike Violette, born and raised in Montana, has been on fire lately—well, as much as one can be while on ice! He’s been hauling in some monster 8lb+ bass like it’s just another day at the office–even though he has been stuck at the office all week and is impatiently waiting to get back on the ice. If you follow Team Hippie Fish on Instagram, you already know he’s no rookie when it comes to ice fishing, but he said that his latest bass catches are easily his personal best at 8 pounds or more. Now, if you’re hoping for a hint on where he landed these beasts, think again—Mike shares fishing spots about as often as bass volunteer to be caught. However, it was in Montana, and he did hint that a mix of certain lures, jigs, and maybe even a celebratory jig (the dancing kind) could have played a role in catching these monsters. Either way, hats off to you, Mike—very nice work!
