There’s nothing quite like that moment when you set the hook under the ice and feel weight on the other end—solid but still mysterious. You slowly bring it up, inch by inch, thinking you just might have a decent one. But then, as you pull it through the hole, “decent” becomes “massive!” You almost can’t believe your eyes, your fishing buddy starts yelling and cheering, and suddenly, you’re holding a monster walleye! It’s the kind of surprise that makes freezing your butt off worth it, for sure.
