Environmental groups have filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Forest Service over a major logging project that would impact 9,000 acres of land 13 miles west of Whitefish.

The Daily Montanan reports Alliance for the Wild Rockies, Native Ecosystems Council, Council on Wildlife and Fish, and the Yellowstone to Uintas Connection have filed the lawsuit on grounds that it would detrimentally impact Canada lynx and grizzly bears.
