Seems like the salmon season is in a transition mode on Fort Peck.
The fish seem to be staging for the spawn as they head back into the bay they were planted in the lake.
Salmon fishing is still a grind-it-out process. On Sunday, Gary Rueb, the Black Jaw Fly Guy, and I got skunked. No salmon.
Monday was better with one 10-pounder and one salmon at 25 pounds after 10 hours of fishing.
Tuesday was a great day with Chuck and Pam Barth from Minnesota joining us in the boat. We ended with six salmon and the biggest was 20 pounds. Most of the other fish were 10-15 pounds. Brads mini Black Jack was the hero that day with three salmon.
Wednesday treated us a little differently with two small salmon in the boat for our efforts. Flies are still producing, too.
