The salmon fishing week was cut short with high winds on Tuesday through Thursday.  It was a short week but a good week for some bigger fish.

Gary Rueb, the Black Jaw Fly Guy, caught his personal best that weighed in at 29 pounds on Monday.  The Captain also reeled in a 25.3-pounder. There were quite a few big fish caught by other anglers, too. All of the guides, like Don Wilkins and Jason Mundel, were getting on the fish for their clients.

Labor Day weekend is now here, and the anglers seem to think it will be a good weekend as long as the wind stays down.  Flies are the most productive with 8-inch flasher working well. It’s time to start hog hunting as the bigger fish start to stage before they head into the marina and Duck Creek.  Smaller salmon in the 8-10 pound range are being caught in the Sage Creek and Graves point area.  Look for the bait down there and the salmon should be nearby!

Good Luck!
