Canyon Ferry: Rainbows are still being caught by shore anglers on the north end at Chinamen’s and Shannon and at Duck Creek while using black nymphs and flies or the basic hook and worm. Boat anglers caught rainbows around Cemetery Island and the Outhouse while using jigs or crankbaits. Walleyes are being caught on various colored crankbaits between Pond 1 and Pond 3. Hauser: The walleye bite on Lake Helena has been good while trolling perch-colored crankbaits or bottom bouncers with walleye spinners and leeches. Rainbow fishing continues to be productive from shore near the boat ramp at York Bridge and from the Causeway Bridge while using egg patterns, beads, wooly buggers, San Juan worms or night crawlers and a marshmallow. Holter: Rainbow fishing continues to be great on the lower end of the reservoir while trolling crankbaits or cowbells, and along the shorelines at the BLM boat ramp and Log Gulch boat ramp while using egg patterns, beads, wooly buggers, San Juan worms, or nightcrawlers and a marshmallow. A few perch are being picked up while vertical jigging with small jigs tipped with worms in 25 to 35 feet of water inside the Canyon and around the Oxbow bend area. Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena
