Mountain lions are solitary hunters, typically preferring to roam and hunt alone. They are stealthy and elusive, using their extraordinary senses of sight and hearing to stalk and ambush prey.  These wild felines are opportunistic predators and have a diverse diet that includes deer, elk, smaller mammals like rabbits and rodents and even domestic animals when available, as well as birds and occasionally livestock.
