Overall waterfowl presence across the WMA remains nearly nonexistent. This includes ducks, snow geese, Canada geese and swans. The vast majority of the WMA is now iced over due to well below freezing temperatures as well as being covered in several inches of snow. Forecasted cold temperatures will only build on this ice layer thereby limiting any significant waterfowl presence on the WMA. Given these conditions, waterfowl hunting and/or viewing on the WMA will generally be extremely limited for the foreseeable future.

Below freezing temperatures have created slushy conditions on all ponds. The Main lake and Priest Butte Lake remain open. Forecasted temperatures will likely start icing up water over the next day or two. Several inches of snow has also fallen on the area. Given conditions, general waterfowl activity remains low across the area, unfortunately. As/if the area does have considerable freezeup, waterfowl presence (ducks, geese, swans) will likely remain limited in presence.

Observations:

White Geese: 560     Swans: 0
