Moose triplets or mule deer triplets?

The photo below is causing some controversy, in that a photo taken by Lesly Levy and posted on the @townliftnews page on Instagram, states that a moose is overlooking her triplets.  However, many people believe the triplets being referred to are three mule deer next to the moose and not moose calves.  It has been…

The photo below is causing some controversy, in that a photo taken by Lesly Levy and posted on the @townliftnews page on Instagram, states that a moose is overlooking her triplets.  However, many people believe the triplets being referred to are three mule deer next to the moose and not moose calves.  It has been a big debate on the internet, but Scott Root, with Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, confirmed that the triplets are, indeed, three moose calves and not mule deer.  Root’s statement isn’t convincing everybody, though.
