HELENA, Mont. – The City of Helena Police Department has confirmed a moose sighting in town. The moose has been seen in the empty lot South of WinCo Foods, between N. Sanders Street and the interstate. Temporary fencing and signs have been set up. People should avoid walking through the area, especially near the ponds, until further notice. The City’s animal control officers are working with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to monitor the situation.
