Both reservoirs have good ice conditions. Be aware of gas pockets and as Res around pressure ridges where ice tends not to be safe. Fresno walleye fishing is good fishing at the main lake points. Northern fishing is also good along rocks and the upper end of the reservoir. Tips-ups work well using salted minnows for walleye and smelt and herring for northerns. Some perch and crappie are being jigged up off Kremlin Bay and other basin areas. Nelson reservoir remains good for walleye and northerns on tip-ups with live minnows. Perch are starting to pick up in the north basins of the reservoir. Try using jigging raps while ice fishing. I have been doing well on them. My favorite color is natural perch.
